Uke Lift Project provides music tuition to private individuals, private groups, schools and businesses. This privacy policy describes how your personal information is collected, used, and shared when you visit www.ukelift.com (the Site).

Personal information collected from you
When you contact me, I will collect your name, email address and any information you supply in relation to your enquiry. Additionally, when you confirm a booking, I will also collect your company name (if applicable), billing address and phone number. This information is referred to as Booking Information and is supplied by you.
When you visit the Site, information about your device, including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies that are installed on your device are automatically collected. Additionally, as you browse the Site, information about the individual web pages that you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the Site, and information about how you interact with the Site are also collected. This automatically-collected information is referred to as Device Information and is collected using the following technologies:

When personal information is referred to in this privacy policy, it means both Device Information and Booking Information.

How your personal information is used

The Booking Information I collect from you is used by me to communicate with you. It is used so that I can:

respond to your requests for information and provide you with information regarding my services

record your agreement to my terms and conditions of service

contact you during the time period for which you have booked lessons

issue an invoice for tuition

ensure that I am compliant with the legal requirements of HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC).
The Device Information that is collected is used to help screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular, your IP address), and more generally to improve and optimise the Site, for example, by generating analytics to help measure traffic and usage trends for the Site. These tools collect information sent by your browser as part of a web page request, including the web pages you visit, your browser add-ons, and other information that assists in improving the Site.

Sharing your personal information

Your personal information is shared with third parties Wix and Google Analytics to help me use it as described above.

The Site is hosted by Wix. Device Information hosted by or through Wix is subject to their privacy policy. By using the Site, you are agreeing to be bound by Wix’s privacy policy which can be found at https://www.wix.com/about/privacy.

Data storage & retention

I am required by HMRC to keep records for at least 5 years after the 31 January submission deadline of the relevant tax year. See How long to keep your records on the HMRC website for further information.

I maintain your personal information for my records unless and until you ask me to delete this information. Providing I am complying with the legal requirements of HMRC, I will delete your information upon request. If you would like to exercise this right, please contact me using the contact information below.

Minimal personal information allowing me to communicate with you (Booking Information) is stored in my password-protected email account (Gmail) and in Google Drive, my cloud-based management system.

Payment information

I do not store your personal payment details. Payments are collected via BACS transfer, or online via third party PayPal Commerce Platform (PayPal). By using the online payment facilities, you are agreeing to be bound by the third party’s privacy policy:

Your rights
